TEN EMPLOYEES HOSPITALIZED DUE TO CHEMICAL OVEREXPOSURE
Investigation abstract
A filter on a pressurized toluene disiocynate foam shooting machine sprang a lea k three hours after being cleaned. The toluene disiocynate foam shooting machine which was under 40 pounds per square inch pressure sprayed into work area. Firs t responders were soaked with toluene disiocynate while shutting the system off without personal protective equipment. Other employees were also overexposed whe n they stayed in the plant during emergency response activities. A total of 10 e mployees were hospitalized with systemic poisoning.
