Event description

Employee dies of cardiac arrest

Investigation abstract

Employee #1 reported to work at 9:00 a.m. on his first day on the job. He spent formed CSHO that Employee #1 was in cardiac arrest when their units arrived. the morning attending employee orientation classes. At noon, he reportedly took his lunch break and at approximately 1:00 p.m. he started his assigned work, ass isting store customers by pushing their baskets to the parking lot and loading b ags into customer's vehicles. At about 2:37 p.m., while assisting a customer loa ding grocery bags in her auto, he informed her that he had to stop and rest. Whi le resting, he suddenly collapsed. An ambulance responded and paramedic and emer gency medical technicians attempted to defibrillate his heart three times en rou te to CMC.
