Employee injured when struck by falling skycar carriage
Investigation abstract
At approximately 9:00 a.m. on January 9, 1990, Employee #1 was working as a chas er on a yarder side at The Salty Dog Timber Sale in Talent, OR. As Employee #1 w as attempting to unhook the chokers from the turn of logs that had been landed, the skyline brake released, allowing the skyline drum to free spool and the skyc ar to fall. Employee #1 was seriously injured when he was struck by the Eagle II motorized skycar carriage. He was transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center by ambulance and was hospitalized.
