EMPLOYEE FELL FROM ROOF AND RECEIVED BRUISES
Investigation abstract
Employee #1 was pointing up the brick on the back side of a brick cupola on the roof of the church. Employee #1 was at the front of the church when he unhooked his safety belt to go around to the side of the cupola to the roof edge to pull up a bucket of mortar. The mortar had been hooked up by the ground man prior to departing the job site. Employee #1 pulled up the bucket and moved it to the sid e of the church cupola. Employee #1 then stepped onto a plastic drop cloth and s lipped and fell from the roof. Employee #1 fell onto a scaffold 10 feet below th e roof. Employee #1 sustained injury in the form of a bruise. The employer requi res the use of safety belts and lanyards and enforces their use.
