Event description
Employee hospitalized after fall through unguarded skylight
Investigation abstract
Employee #1 and a fellow roofer were transporting metal decking from one area of the roof to the immediate work site. The lead roofer had just passed an unguard ed skylight and was turning to travel eastward. He had his back toward Employee #1, who was holding the back end of the metal decking. Employee #1 stepped on th e skylight and fell approximately 24 ft to a concrete floor. Because of his seve re injuries, Employee #1 required hospitalization.
