EMPLOYEE KILLED WHEN STACK OF STEEL SHEETS TIPS OVER ON HIM
Investigation abstract
Employee #1, a steel fabricator working for Buckeye Fabrication, attempted to pr y the top sheet from a stack of steel sheets stored on their sides. The sheets m easured 6 ft wide by 12.5 ft long by .25 in. thick. The stack of sheets was stan ding between two leaning stacks of steel sheets in a storage rack. Employee #1 w as about to connect the top sheet of steel to a clamp for an overhead bridge cra ne, when the whole stack tipped over on him. He was killed.
