EMPLOYEE FALLS FROM TREE
Investigation abstract
Employees arrived on site to cut down two trees and were instructed by the emplo f kicked out. He then was without a secure climbing line and a secondary rope. H e fell 38 to 40 feet landing on a brick sidewalk. He fractured his right wrist a nd left heel bone. yer as to how to cut down the trees. The injured employee had put his saddle on and proceeded to climb to the top of the tree. He began at the base of the tree and worked his way up cutting limbs and branches until he reached the top. At th is point, he repositioned his climbing line in order to cut the top off of the t ree. To accomplish this task, he disconnected the knot of the climbing line and had pulled the line from where it was first secured. The line fell across a prev iously cut lower branch.
