Event description

Employee's leg amputated when caught in auger

Investigation abstract

Employee #1 was using a water sprayer to clean manure out of a chicken brooder. He stepped onto an uncovered auger that carries the manure out of the building, and amputated his lower left leg. The auger runs in a trough in the floor.
