Two employees were injured when they fell to a lower level. The first employee had rigged a draft of pipes in the hatch of a cargo ship and was proceeding to the designated safe area. Before she made it to the safe area, the draft was being picked and started to spin. The second employee saw her freeze up and ran and tackled her before she could be struck by the pipe. They both fell approximately 4 feet. The first employee suffered three broken ribs and a collapsed lung. The second suffered a concussion and head laceration. Both were admitted to the hospital.

An employee was climbing a step ladder while carrying a 3-foot piece of conduit. As he went to reposition his feet on the ladder by pivoting, he slipped and fell from the third rung of a 6-foot ladder. The employee sustained fractures to the left femur, right elbow, and right ring finger.
