An employee was training a coworker on how to operate a CNC machine when she tried to adjust the clamp that holds the part being processed. The clamp is operated by a foot pedal on the floor. While adjusting the clamp, she inadvertently stepped on the foot pedal, activating the clamp and severing her right index and middle fingertips. She required surgery.
