Final narrative
An employee was preparing to unload a truck mounted shipping container by activating the dock plate which is manually operated with a handle. While lowering the dock plate onto the back of the truck, the dock plate recoiled upon striking the right side of the truck causing the plate not to clear the truck as required to lay flat for unloading operations. The employee's left ring finger was pinched between the steel dock plate and left side steel edge of the dock plate.
