An employee was banding the coil on a recoiling machine when the coil came off of the track during the recoiling stage. The employee made some adjustments so the coil would line up correctly. A coworker then placed the separator down and used the manual control panel to finish the recoiling process. At that time, the employee's glove was caught between the lapse of the coil and was crushed by the separator, causing an amputation of the left ring finger.
