Final narrative
On 6/14/2017, at approximately 1500, an employee was riding in the rear of a line striping truck that had just completed striping a freeway entrance ramp and was travelling down the freeway to turn around in the median. While the striping truck was slowing down to turn around, it was struck from behind by an approaching truck. The employee in the rear of the truck suffered a fractured leg and thumb and was hospitalized overnight.

An employee was operating a roller along the shoulder of a road to cone off a work area when they were struck from behind by a tractor trailer, resulting in orbital bone fractures, a broken collar bone, increased cranial pressure, spinal fractures, and respiratory problems.

The safety cones closing off a lane of traffic were being cleaned up at the end of a shift. An employee was in the basket of the traffic control truck, picking up the cones, when a passing SUV crashed into a guide rail and then into the truck. The employee suffered a head laceration, internal injuries and bleeding, and a fractured pelvis.

An employee was operating a paver when the mirror of a passing dump truck caught the seat of the paver as it drove by. The seat twisted and pinned the employee against the control panel, resulting in fractures to the ribs and sternum and a dislocated clavicle.

Three employees were on a paint truck applying paint stripping on the highway when a semi-trailer struck the rear of the paint truck flipping it over. Two employees were hospitalized for a concussion, brain bleeding and broken ribs.
