The employee was sitting at the machine lowering the bowl on a spindle while welding areas of the mixer bowl. The lip of the mixer bowl became trapped on top of his knee, pushing his foot (which was operating a speed pedal) downward and trapping his lower leg. The employee required assistance to remove him from the machine. The employee sustained a right knee sprain.
