Final narrative
An employee was using a belt sander to sand down a sharp edge from a piece of metal he had just cut. The belt caught a piece of the sharp steel, causing the employee to move forward. He was wearing leather gloves while sanding and as the metal was pulled in between the rest plate and sanding belt, it caught the glove, pulling his left thumb in between the metal piece and sanding belt. His left thumb was amputated.
