Final narrative
Employees were running a machine (controlled atmosphere plasma spray). The process involves titanium powder. They noticed some sparking on the piping that goes to the dust collector and they started wiping the residue off the piping. A cap on a second set of piping was removed to clean the piping which introduced air into the piping and a flashback occurred. Both employees were hospitalized for burns.
