On July 11, 2019, an asphalt maintenance technician was removing a handicap sign in preparation for resurfacing the parking lot when a bee or wasp nest was disturbed and he got stung. He collapsed to the ground and had difficulty breathing. He was hospitalized for an allergic reaction to the sting.
