During power restoration work after a storm related outage, a crew was assigned to clear a broken pole and low wires from a roadway. An employee was removing the remaining primary take off conductor. The pole dropped straight down, but then bounced back up and towards him. The telephone cable struck him in the neck region, knocking him unconscious, and pinning him in the bucket. The employee was hospitalized with a contusion to the right side of the neck and possible injuries to his thyroid and carotid.
