An employee installed a nitrogen supply line containing a particulate filter, pressure gauge, and pressure relief valve for a dual gas inlet gas booster system. When the employee pressurized the supply line, the particulate filter failed, causing the quick-disconnect metal bowl guard to become airborne and strike the employee's left pinky and ring fingers, resulting in broken bones.
