On January 15, 2022, an employee was using a forklift to load parts onto a computer numerical control (CNC) saw. The employee programmed the saw to cut the material. On the last cut, he went to change the order when a piece was left in the machine. When the employee went to grab the piece, the machine started unexpectedly and contacted the employee's left hand. The employee suffered amputation of their index, middle, and ring fingers, right behind the nail of the index finger and straight across the other two fingers.
