Struck by object falling from vehicle or machinery-other than vehicle part · Fractures
Final narrative
An employee was fabricating a cage out of steel stock and angle iron. The employee was moving a piece of flat stock to get to a specific piece of angle iron from within a pile of steel. He hooked a choked sling onto one side of the flat stock and lifted it a few feet off the ground with an overhead crane. He then bent down and began pulling the angle iron he needed. The elevated flat stock slipped out of the sling and fell, contacting his head and landing on both of his hands. The employee sustained a fractured left knuckle, severe swelling in the right hand, and a half-inch laceration on the right side of the head.
