Final narrative
A crane was being used to remove a loader from a barge. An employee stood on the back of the loader as it was attached to the crane and lifted. The cable on the crane broke, causing the loader and the employee to fall about 13 feet to the floor of the barge. The employee suffered fractured ribs, a fractured back and collarbone, and a laceration on the back of the neck.
