Final narrative
On August 15, 2023, an employee was undergoing hands-on field training as an offload inspector of wind turbine component parts. During the offload inspection, inspectors visually inspect the components and take photos. While inspecting the drivetrain and transitioning from the left side to the right side of the drive train, the injured employee stepped off the transport body onto the factory-installed tensioned tarp. The tensioned tarp was unsupported and deflected up to 3 inches above the ground. When the employee planted her right foot onto the tarp, her foot rotated laterally, and her ankle impacted the ground causing a lower right leg fracture.
