An employee exited his haul truck to close the tailgate and noticed some stones he was hauling were trapped between the truck bed and the tailgate. He pulled up on the tailgate to free the stones. He then pushed the tailgate closed and his left hand was caught between the tailgate and the latch. The employee's ring finger was amputated.
