An employee was operating a metal chain dryer belt as it transported a rotating metal rod downward. The weight on top of the rod gave in, began to twist, and caught the employee's left hand. He tried to pull his hand away, but the force from the rod pulled it back into position. His ring finger was crushed and sustained an amputation.
