An employee was operating a circular saw in an outdoor work location to cut notches in a plywood sheet. The saw kicked back and contacted the employee's left hand. The employee suffered an amputation of the index finger at the base of the nail and a partial amputation of the middle finger at the second joint, resulting in hospitalization and surgery.
