Before the incident
The IW was hand-loading the melt bucket.
What happened
A reject wheel with extra material (called risers) on it bounced as it was loaded into the melt bucket. The bounce caused the wheel to pop back up and catch the IW 's finger in a momentary pinch point created by the bouncing wheel and the rim of the melt bucket. The IW 's finger was lacerated as a result.
