Using a grinder to cut a pipe

The worker was using a grinder to cut out a pipe. The worker was holding the grinder in his right hand instead of both he had overrode the safety feature of the grinder and had it locked to run automatically and the pipe had not been secured prior to starting the work. After he cut one side of the pipe it started to fall. The worker reached out with his left hand to grab the pipe and his right hand reflexively followed. The running grinder collided with the back of his hand.

Lacerated the back of his hand. Required 7 stitches.
