This injury detail is explained by injured workers’ supervisor due to injured worker being transported immediately to urgent care after injury occurred then did not return to work per attending physician instructions. [REDACTED] male worker was performing normal duties during function testing and final steps of assembly at the interior upper deck of a fuel-lube truck body (165K16). During testing oil and fluid hose nozzles are placed into the top of their respective supply tanks for re-circulation. Worker was standing on flat surface of enclosure floor while arranging hoses. He stepped up onto a horizontal support (heater bracket) mounted to front wall of truck body enclosure to gain an additional ~16 inches of height.

He then reached up to grab the hose nozzle from one tank and as he lifted his left arm above shoulder height he felt his left shoulder pop. There was no fall or impact associated with this injury. Worker was helped out of the enclosure and seated in supervisor office.

Acute Left Shoulder Dislocation.

N A

Dislocated left shoulder by reaching overhead for a product hose nozzle during function testing.
