Opening Door Hands

As EE was preparing to bring pallets inside the building they were instructed to bring the pallets through the back door. EE usually brings pallets through the front and this was their first time using the back door. The door is positioned with a sliding horizontal latch used to lock and unlock the door. The latch slides left and right about 2 ' in order to unlock the door. As EE was sliding the latch to the left in order to open the latch was difficult to move. In order to combat this EE used excessive force when sliding the door and crushed their left pinky finger between the sliding latch and the trim of the door.
