Before the incident
Employee was getting ready to move some metal brackets (in a plastic tote) from a staging cart to a loading conveyor.
What happened
Employee attempted to move a heavy sharp metal bracket one handed instead of using 2 hands as trained and instructed to do. The parts in the tote shifted because using one hand caused the parts in the tote to shift and come out lacerating the employees hand.
Injury or illness
Laceration to left hand between index and middle finger. Bleeding was controlled with 1st aid bandaging and later by sutures (4 stiches placed by occupational health care).

Metal brackets came out of the tote and lacerated the area between fingers.
