Before the incident

Please be advised that at approximately [REDACTED] hours on [REDACTED] we experienced a recordable injury at the Dodson FX Plant The EE was working with another employee to combine partial units This is a routine task The EE used a forklift to elevate the unit as trained to reduce bending and the potential of muscle strains The EE incorrectly lifted the cart with the pallet of skins During the process the cart slide forward causing the load to fall off the forks and the label flag part of the cart struck the EE on the top of the head resulting in a cut The EE was taken to hospital and treated there The EE was released to come back to work and completed the remainder of the shift with no issues The EE reported that he felt fine and would let us know if anything changes A plant stand down was conducted to go over safe operation procedures and risk recognition with the shift and will be communicated with other crews in their preshift meetings
