Working an emergency rescue of a car that had gone down a steep embankment with 2 occupants that needed to be extricated. The steep ground was wet muddy and covered in vegetation.
What happened
One 300lb patient was extricated then transferred to a stokes basket where the firefighter was part of a crew that had to bear crawl with the patient in the stokes basket up the slippery steep embankment. Once they could reach the ladder they pushed the stokes basket up the ladder resting on the embankment.
