Before the incident
PICKING UP SACK OF MAIL
What happened
On [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] at Dulles P&DC the mail handler was working on the [REDACTED] placing scanned sacks of priority mail in the BMCs for dispatch. She closed the BMC door and turned to get another sack of mail. The BMC door fell and hit her left shoulder. Three other employees witnessed the incident. They checked to see if the employee was all right and went to get the MDO. They checked the latch on the BMC. It was defective. It would not stay closed . An accident report was started. The employee was taken to INOVA Ashburn Health plex for treatment. She had a bruise on the left shoulder and the doctor request a day to rest. The BMC was red tagged and removed from the workroom floor.
