Before the incident
Loading letter mail onto the letter processing machine by transferring trays of letters from mail container to the machine.
What happened
Employee was loading mail onto LPARS machine CIOSS [REDACTED]. In an effort to lift upper APC shelve in order to retrieve the letter trays on the bottom part of the APC and because the shelve was stuck between the APCs sides the upper shelve dropped abruptly and pinched her right thumb. Indirect witness was employee who was working with employee that was injured on the machine but at that time was sweeping the mail.
