What happened
Carrier was casing his route when he bent down to pick up flats out of a tub. The tub was on the ground at his case to the side. When the carrier went to pick up the flats he strained his lumbar. The tubs were no more than 10 lbs. Management believes the carrier was bending at the waist instead of using proper lifting technique. They also believed the carrier may have been rushing and grabbed the stack of flats with one hand instead of two.
