On [REDACTED] about [REDACTED] City [REDACTED] contacted acting manager stating that he would not be able to return to work due to an injury to his right ankle and foot. He said that he injured it at some point on the route on [REDACTED] but he wasn 't sure how. The employee stated he rolled his ankle stepping off a curb. He couldn 't see because it was dark. He stated that when he left work around [REDACTED] [REDACTED] he was in pain. He was non schedule on [REDACTED]. he returned to work on [REDACTED] and worked a whole shift. Then called in on [REDACTED] and brought a Dr 's note saying that he had a fracture to his right foot and will not be able to return to work until [REDACTED]. He stated that he wanted to file a claim. When asked why he didn 't report it sooner he stated that no one was around. But management was talking and laughing with him and another carrier on [REDACTED] [REDACTED] when he returned to the office from completing his route on the street. There was no distress
