On [REDACTED] at approx. 0420hrs TTO Driver was on his assigned run # 101 Yard Spotting at the [REDACTED]. Locking Barn doors with an unfamiliar locking mechanism spring loaded. Was familiarizing myself with the unit as I pulled the spring-loaded devise with my left-hand fingers slipped releasing it into my right-hand palm up striking knuckle between the mechanism and the bulkhead of the trailer.
