What happened

On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] PTF Rural Carrier was delivering a certified letter to [REDACTED] when the resident opened the door an adult female Pitbull (black and white) came out and attacked the carrier. The carrier was able to get to his car and call for help. Carrier suffered a deep bite to the left hand a bite to the rear of his left bicep and multiple scratches on his right leg. First aide treatment was provided at the scene by emergency services as the carrier contacted the non-emergency number as instructed by his supervisor. Carrier was transported to [REDACTED] Hospital in [REDACTED] by a member of Management. The hospital staff was notified of the dog lacking updated Rabies vaccinations. The homeowner o showed Monroe Police documentation of rabies vaccinations dated [REDACTED]. The animal was then surrendered to the Police. On site investigation with pictures taken.
