What happened

On [REDACTED] at the end of the shift a team member was using air to clean underneath a machine. They felt something in their eye and used a eyewash saline bottle. It was not reported to anyone. As the night went on the pain got worse and they went to the Emergency Room. A prescription was given for anti bacterial eye drops and they scheduled a meeting with the optometrist for the [REDACTED] because they had better equipment. Another iodine test was done and they said they could see evidence of a cut (approximately 3mm?) that they would expect from metal in the eye. There was no particulate currently in the eye. They put in a bandage contact to help with the irritation from blinking and that was removed on [REDACTED]. They were told to keep using the eye drops and said to not go into work. The plant has not seen the doctor paperwork yet and was not notified by the employee until [REDACTED]. Investigation is ongoing.
