Before the incident
Employee was washing his hands in men 's restroom and attempted to re-activate the water flow with his hand.
What happened
The employee states to have had soap on his hands when attempting to re-activate the water lever to rinse his hands and his hand slipped striking an edge of the sink structure cutting his ring finger.
Injury or illness
Small laceration to top left knuckle of ring finger initially treated with first aid at the time of occurrence. When a safety & wellness follow-up was being performed on the following workday of 10-28-2024 the employee informed the safety manager of stiffness while attempting to bend his finger. The employee was advised to seek medical treatment at this time. Medical evaluation found that his tendon at his finger had been severed and would require medical repair to correct.
