Starting an IV on a patient
What happened
I have a cut on my right index finger and I did not have a band aid over it at the time. I was starting an IV I did have gloves on but I had removed the tip of the glove from the finger with a cut so that I could feel the vein. The patient started bleeding with the IV insertion and blood got on my finger that had an exposed cut.
