Employee was trying to correct an alarm on machine 42 which occurred midcycle In order to clear the code the employee had to remove a face mill from the machine The employee was reaching into the machine to eject the mill at full arms length and when the mill ejected from holder the weight of the tool and force of the ejection was too great for the employee to be able to hold it The tool pushed the employees hand downward forcing it into the vice in the machine The cutting edge of the tool caused a laceration to the employees finger that required care beyond first aid
