Before the incident
Staff member was observing a worker from Home Health acces a port. The worker was unsuccessful in accessing and asked the staff member to take over. When taking over with the port she was stuck by the port needle. When that happened staff member moved all equipment and pulled the safety device on the needle and got a whole new kit for the patient. When going to receive a new kit she forced the wound to bleed more and washed her hands. Staff member put a bandage on. The accident happened on [REDACTED] at [REDACTED]. She called to report the accidnet and was not able to receive a complete answer until [REDACTED].
