Before the incident
The employee was assisting with moving a rack used to rack off pans. Instead of using the handles on the cart he had his hands around the rails and started to push the cart to the desired location. Due to limited visibility the employee did not see that he was close to the column and hit it with the cart causing the pans to shift. This caused the pans to shift smashing the middle finger on his right hand and causing a laceration requiring stitches.
