An employee cut his finger while preparing rexolite test specimens with a bandsaw. The employee had successfully cut a rexolite disc into small pieces and was preparing to cut the pieces into thin sheets.

the employee turned off the saw moved pieces of material out of the way and started to position the guard for cutting the thin sheets. While positioning the guard the side of his left index finger contacted the bandsaw blade that was still in motion and slowing down after being turned off. This caused a small but deep laceration on his left index finger.
