Talking with [REDACTED]

Was sitting at bedside talking with pt when noticed a sharp. Do not remember if it was on the shelf next to me or the floor. The sharp was odd in the fact that it looked like the center of a vacutainer (needle with grey material covering it and nothing but a white plastic nub on the other side ) but with none of the protective material surrounding it as usual was not capped in any way either. Went to pick up the sharp and dispose of it when accidently poked self in L pointer finger on side of pointer finger by nail. Washed hands several times right away and notified charge nurse and then called ouch line as instructed. Am unsure if needle was used; if used unsure if it was used on the patient listed above that was in the room or on a previous patient.

Puncture

PunctureFinger - LeftEmployee was stuck with a needle from a vacutainer.
