LOOKING FOR A VEIN TO DRAW FROM.
What happened
I WAS ASKED TO GO UPSTAIRS TO DRAW A HARD PATIENT. FOUND A VEIN IN HER HAND DREW THE BLOOD AND DIDN 'T OBTAIN ENOUGH BLOOD TO COMPLETE THE TEST. I WITHDREW THE NEEDLE AND WENT TO ACTIVATE THE SAFETY DEVICE ON THE BUTTERFLY NEEDLE AND IT ENDED UP BOUNCING AND IT HIT ME IN THE SIDE OF MY INDEX FINGER. I IMMEDIATLY BANDAGED THE PATIENT MILKED WHERE I THOUGHT THE STICK OCCURED AND WASHED THE SITE FOR 1 MINUTE.
