What happened
Employees were working in the Vinyl [REDACTED] fab shop fabricating a piece of 3 inch pipe for Glycol [REDACTED] The employees placed a piece of 3 inchX 8 foot long pipe in the jack stands to grind fit and weld The injured employee grabbed the tube of the jack stand with his right hand and loosened the adjustment screw with his left hand in an attempt to level the pipe At that time the collar did not hold and the tube slipped down with the weight of the pipe and smashed his right ring finger between the pivot point of the collar and the jack stand head resulting in a laceration and fracture to the tip of the right ring finger
