Before the incident
Employee noted that a larger than normal ball of dried foam was present in the boat he was working on. He took the largest non-serrated blade and tried to cut through the foam. He reports using the blade as a a prying tool after making the cut. The knife slipped and cut his non-dominant hand. He WAS wearing cut gloves at the time of the injury.
What happened
Using the large blade to cut and pry the solid ball of foam wasn 't the best tool for the job. There was an unusually large ball of dried foam - it appears that the foamer over-shot the volume needed.
